Secure Flight and Your Non-rev Travel Information

Last Call to Get Secure Flight Ready

It's an additional opportunity to update your name and the names of your family members and guest travelers in your Jetnet Traveler Information.

Typically, you can only update existing names in Traveler Information in the event of marriage, divorce, or adoption.

However, from Sept. 1 - Oct. 31, 2010, you can update or correct your name and guest travelers' names in Jetnet's Traveler Information so they match valid government issued identification used for travel.

With the routine use of nicknames, hyphenated names or omitting middle names in the Traveler Information database over the years, many employees, retirees and their guests are not Secure Flight ready. Please check your Traveler Information list to be sure.

If you don't make the necessary update/corrections, when the next phase of Secure Flight is launched Nov. 1, 2010, you or your guest travelers may be prevented from checking in and/or denied boarding.

This next phase of Secure Flight requires all travelers provide the following data before travel:
  • Full Name (first, middle and last name, as it appears on the valid government-issued photo ID you use when traveling)
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Redress Number if applicable (What is this?)
Get Secure Flight Ready - What Do I Do?
Verify that your name, and your guest travelers' names, in Jetnet's Traveler Information matches the valid government-issued ID you use for travel using these steps:
  1. Go to Jetnet's Travel page and select Traveler Information.
  2. Click Edit beside your name.
  3. Match the government-issued ID you use for travel by updating your:
    • First name
    • Middle name (If one appears on your government-issued ID).
    • Make corrections such as hyphenated names, nicknames, etc.
    • Add Redress Number if applicable (What is this?)

  4. Gather full name details for your guest travelers and repeat the above steps.
  5. Tell a co-worker to do the same. Managers should share details with direct reports.
That's it ... one less worry for you and your guests.

After the Oct. 31 deadline, employees must contact HR Services via Chat or Secure e-mail for assistance with updating traveler information and will need to allow standard processing time.
